Mix and Match Overlays and a Freebie

February 8, 2015

As a designer, one of my favorite things to create is background papers.  I enjoy using overlays, and especially love mixing and matching them as part of the creation process.  This week I thought it would be fun to design some mix-and-match overlays that could be used in either a simple or complex manner. The result is my Mix and Match Edge Overlays Sets 1 and 2.

Mix and Match Edge Overlays were designed to provide you with optimum flexibility and multiple choices. They were designed to use alone, or in combination with each other to create coordinating papers.  Experiment with opacity levels and blend modes, and/or mask areas of an Overlay (especially when used in combination with a 2nd or 3rd Overlay) to create endless possibilities

Overlays carry a commercial use license, but are perfect for the personal use layout artist!  Use these in combination with papers from the kit you are working with to create additional, coordinating papers quickly and easily!

To get the most from Mix and Match Edge Overlays, use them in combination with each other, stacking them as you like.  Mask away areas that you don’t want to create different looks!
If you are not familiar with masking, here is some quick reading for you, my latest tutorial on theStudio’s blog:  Using Masks in Photoshop.
