I admit it. I am partial to lace.  I love the delicacy of Irish Lace especially. So I have been having a grand old time creating my new Irish Lace product line!

Last week I introduced my Irish Lace Styles, Corners, Border Set 1 and Border Set 2.  Today I have released my newest Collection, which includes:  Irish Lace Frames, and Irish Lace Overlays Set2, Set 3, and Set 4.

Irish Lace Overlays Sets 2, 3, and 4 come in PNG format, which so many of you have asked for!  This format increases their versatility for us all!

Today I want to share with you some creative ways to use these overlays.  But let’s take a look at the new line first!

Now my favorite way is to apply my Irish Lace Style to create a really delicate Irish Lace look!  Kabra did that in this sweet layout:

Norma used one of the Irish Lace Frames in her layout with the Irish Lace Style applied. Adorable!

Norma wanted to use the Lace Style on one of the new Lace Overlays, but the white color of the lace was too stark for her layout.  She opened her Styles Panel, and selected a light tan for the Color Overlay.

Kabra was participating in the Color Challenge over at theStudio (hosted by ADB Designs).  (Diane, host of this challenge, offers a free mini-kit for challenge participants!) Kabra had to use the free kit for this layout, but wanted to add something behind the brown frame.  She used one of Diane’s Deco Mats Vol 5, warped it to match the shape of the frame, and applied the Irish Lace Styles to it.  I thought it was really fun to see the Lace Style applied to a product that Kabra already had in her digi-stash!

Pat is an awesome photographer, and she captured this photo of a heron, with his wings raised, trying to stay cool in temperatures over 100 degrees.  She wanted to incorporate the feel of the location, Mud Lake, as well as create a border that complemented her photograph. Here’s what she did:

1. Pat placed a brown piece of paper over her photograph. Then using a mask, she brushed away part of the paper to reveal the photo underneath.
2. She next placed Irish Lace Overlays Set 3, 6  on top of the entire layout.
3. She applied the Irish Lace Style to that PNG lace layer.
4. Pat clicked on the layer that held the lace to open the Styles Panel.  She clicked on the Color Overlay to make that part of the style active.  She next used the Color Picker to pick up a very light lavender color from the birds wings, and  then changed the Color Overlay blend mode to color burn.

Very cool!  I love seeing ALL of the different ways that the Lace Overlays and Styles can be used!

What if lace doesn’t match your layout style?  Not a problem!  You can still use these tools to create interesting and beautiful effects!
