It’s all in the timing

This is the day where I love to share a little bit of my week with you. And where you are generous with your time and read my ramblings.

Today I truly have little to share. I’ve worked many extra hours designing this week, which didn’t leave much time for much else.  Riley (our dog) didn’t receive all of his usual daily walks.  This morning, I was at the paint store at 9:00 am, the minute it opened, to buy paint for our contractor who was due at our house at…. well, 9:00 am today.  I rescheduled a routine dentist appointment for another week, and I haven’t even picked up the book that I’ve been trying to finish.

I did, however, prepare for and teach a class on Tuesday night for NAODS.
I did complete You Are A Masterpiece.
I did complete some other design obligations that were due.

And, although it seems cruel of me, I did laugh this afternoon, at my husband’s expense.

This week it has been in the high 80’s here; but today a storm was coming our way.  In the afternoon, the sky drew dark, the fog started rolling in, the temperature dropped significantly, and the wind started howling.  Today was trash pick-up day, and our trash cans were still on the street.  My husband, Rick, came into my office and told he that he was going to go retrieve the trashcans, noting that he was a already a little late in doing so. He wanted to be sure to put them away before the storm hit.

Our driveway is very long. Out my window, I could see Rick as he started down the driveway. And at that very moment, the skies opened up and absolutely poured out on us a hard, fast, driving rain.  By the time Rick came back into the house he was totally soaked.

So what’s so funny about that?  Well, within about 30 seconds after he got back to the house, the rain stopped. Just as quickly as it started. A 5 minute downpour; that’s all we got.  At the very time Rick went to get the trashcans.

I don’t know. After the week I’ve had… it just seemed just pretty funny to me.

If Rick would have tried to ‘wait it out’, it would have rained for days! LOL Cute story!

Isn’t that always the way it goes. I had a similar situation yesterday too. I had all my grand kids here, and the weather was cold and windy, and not five minutes after they went out to ride their bikes it started to rain/sleet/snow hard little pellets. They came in with red cold cheeks and fingers and in the time it took them to hang up their coats……… yup it had stopped LOL!!
    Have a great weekend.

Yep! That’s pretty much the same thing that happened here! No sleet and snow, though. 😉 Thanks, Renee. Wishing you a good weekend too!

Such a busy week! I’m SO glad you were able to complete ‘You Are a Masterpiece’ – I think this may be my favorite kit – downloading now, and inspired to scrap some grandbaby pages!!
