Monday Inspiration by Beatrice – This Is Me December

December 10, 2018

Good morning. It’s Monday so that means I’m back on the blog ready to inspire you with layouts using SnickerdoodleDesigns’ new release and twelfth in the series, This is Me December.

This is Me December Collection

Most of us are busy this time of year so it’s nice to have just one Collection in your stash with which you can document all your December memories. That cute deer front and center in the preview is so much fun and once you open the Collection you will actually find several variations of him included. Of course the Collection is packed with so much more and the palette will serve you whether you prefer traditional colors or something a bit more modern.

Browsing the galleries I see I’m not the only one who loves the deer. Jenni included three of the poses in her layout. Placing them in triangular formation moves the eye all around the page. The texture in the shabby paper is so pretty as is the bit of wood paper peeking through at the edges. I really like the way she used the Santa-hat-topped journal card, included in the kit, and her clusters are lovely and surround the adorable photo in just the right way.

The photos of the girl in Kythe’s layout are priceless. She looks amazed in the first photo and it’s easy to see why when you spy the gifts in the second.   The page design is very clever. The artist stretched the frame and placed it around both the solid paper and two photos. The string bows embellish the top of the frame while the cluster below adds to the bottom. I like the stitched pieces of paper and lace. Combining several of the journal pieces to create a single tag is very creative.

The large, group photo in Chrissy’s layout takes center stage when surrounded by the kit papers and elements. I like the edger she combined with the plain background paper. The stars she used add just the right amount of sparkle and the brushwork just the right amount of color. I like the scene she created in one corner with the deer, tree, gifts and other embellishments. The cluster in the opposite corner guides us to take in the entire page.

The Christmas tree paper is one of my favorites in the Collection. I like how Glori mimicked the vertical lines of the paper by adding the green framing. She used a template by LDrag Designs. The edger she chose compliments the holly embellishments and the single sprig up the side of the journal card is so sweet. Using the variety of holly-themed elements results in a much unified page.

I’m certainly relieved to read that Santa is giving the girls a second chance in Kay’s delightful page. I like the way she framed the letter from Santa and combined it with the photo of the girls and the elf actually holding the letter. She scattered the deer all around her page where they appear to be peeking both from in front of and behind the other page elements. Adding the boots to the top of the framed letter is a sweet touch.

This page by Linda C is absolutely stunning. Framing the focal point of the masked photo is so creative. I like the way she covered one edge of the frame with the gorgeous cluster and wrapped it a bit along the bottom of the frame. The stapled and stacked word strips make the perfect title. Adding the snowy overlay completes the page flawlessly.

I think you will agree that many varied and beautiful pages can be composed from this Collection. I hope you find some time during these busy days to do some creating for yourself. Thanks for reading along and have a great week.
