Monday Inspiration – June 6th

June 6, 2016

I’m excited to write my first post for the blog to showcase some inspirational layouts using SnickerDoodleDesigns’ latest release. First let’s look at the gorgeous collection entitled Serendipity.

Serendipity by SnickerdoodleDesigns

Serendipity, which is part of the Hatchery (mix and match kits from The Digichick Designers),  is currently available at The Digichick both as a collection and separate pieces. All parts of the collection, whether individual or as a whole, are on sale through Wednesday, June 8th.

Here are just a few layouts I found using this collection.

Serendipity-Jenni SnickerdoodleDesigns

Did you notice the puzzle pieces included in the collection? Jenni uses them so creatively by clipping the photo to the puzzle and then separating a block of pieces in order to display the navigational graphic, which supports the theme of her layout. The addition of the two clusters and dangling curled ribbon atop the footprints add dimension to the layout. The vertical word art on the right hand edge reinforces her journaling.

Serendipity by SnickerdoodleDesigns Stefanie

I never tire of a blocked design and Stefanie is a master at it. Her choice of papers and embellishments from the collection in no way detract from her lovely photos. She also uses the puzzle pieces, first to create a puzzle out of her top, right photo and then tumbling diagonally across her layout recolored to perfectly match her photos. The lacy borders support her theme; and again the vertical word art hints to before and after, representing the yarn in skeins and the final crocheted product.

Serendipity-Kythe2 SnickerdoodleDesigns

How about this artsy page from Kythe. She blended some of the papers included in the collection to create a stunning backdrop for her clean, crisp photo. Her title work is amazing, using the puzzle pieces to form the word “pieces” and tilting them just so. The bits of flowers and foliage on top are just the right touch.

Serendipity-Beatrice SnickerdoodleDesigns

I don’t normally toot my own horn and that’s definitely not my intention here; but I wanted to add my own layout just to show that Serendipity is a truly versatile and packed collection. Of course, I also used the puzzle pieces to support my theme as well as the vertical word art atop my photo.  Just a few clusters finish things off and my page is complete, thanks in part to a great template by Connie Prince, The Big Picture, vol. 12.

Serendipity-Kay SnickerdoodleDesigns

Finally I found this lovely layout by Kay using a blend of papers and a gorgeous masked photo. I love the way the footprints lead the eye to the photo and the sparkles, bubbles and swirls create an ethereal effect which is supported by the navigational graphic topped by the star. She also uses the vertical word art which demonstrates how many before and after moments we have in our everyday lives.

I hope you’ve found these pages to be motivating to create some pages of your own perhaps about your before and after or the puzzle pieces in your life.
