New Floors!

January 30, 2016

Last week I shared with you the beginning of our house renovation.  (Change is coming).  The beginning is new flooring in 3 rooms.  But it’s my favorite 3 rooms (craft room, office, gym), so I am fine with that!

We have renovated houses before.  The last house we owned, we lived in while systematically, nearly every room was gutted and reconstructed. That was quite a project. And quite a mess.  In the end it was worth it, and I know it will be this time as well.  But I had forgotten that it takes a lot less time, energy, and thought to remove things from cabinets and drawers than it takes to put everything back in place once the construction is done.

So I have beautiful new floors… but my rooms are still pretty much empty.  The first thing I did once the contractor left was set up the computer in my office.  I’ve moved a few things back into place in my craft room, but I’m taking my time, making sure I get things right where I want them.

In the meantime, I am enjoying the nice open space.  And if I’m really honest, I’ve got to admit that I really like walking into my craft room and seeing nothing but beautiful flooring right now.  That will change. I’ll want my “stuff” back in place soon. But for now, I’m happy.
