Photo Tips for Food Photography when Traveling
One of the fun things about traveling is experiencing all that is different about another culture, including their foods. I like to take photos of my favorite meals, when I am on vacation. I usually try to do it quickly, so I am not too obvious. That, most often, leads to photos that are “memory snapshots,” rather than works of art.
I took this picture of a wonderful lobster dinner I had while in the Galapagos Islands. When I look at the photo, I can smell the fresh ocean breeze, as we enjoyed this meal on an outdoor patio. I remember the fresh taste of the lobster, and how delicious it was. I don’t see a fabulous photograph though.
For this reason, the article 10 Tips for Food Photography When Traveling caught my eye today. Next time I am on vacation, I will try to do a better job of capturing my dining experiences.
I hope you find the article helpful too!

Karen, I also like to grab quick pictures of fav dishes. Also, when I decide on a dish, if I can do it without being obtrusive, I’ll snap a photo off the description off the menu. We both enjoy cooking and took Culinary classes after retiring so it’s fun to try to recreate at home. Hmmm…menu photos could make good backgrounds. Have a lovely weekend.

Yes, I will do that too, Rose! Also photos of the restaurant sign. Sometimes when traveling, it’s just hard to remember the names of everywhere you went. If I have the name of the place, and it’s unique enough, I can Google it when I get home and get a lot of information about the place that way It saves taking so many notes while on vacation. Thanks for your addition to this post.
Oh, yummy! It looks good! Curry? I’m drooling. LOL
