What’s Wrong With This Picture?
As scrapbookers, we typically take a lot of pictures.
It takes time to create a beautiful layout… sometime a LOT of time! Because of that, it’s best to start the process with some quality pictures.
Here is a great article on the 12 Common Newbie Photography Mistakes to Avoid. I wish I had read that article in 2002, when I got my first digital camera. If I had looked at the photo right after I had taken it, I would have immediately realized my mistake here. Do you spot it? (Set aside the fact that it’s not an interesting photo at all! But it was a photo of my first grandson, eating his shirt, and after all… it was just so adorable at the time!)

Obviously I am a newbie as not sure what is wrong here….is it the fact that his dad’s head was cut off or should it have been cropped so that your grandson was the focal point of the photo (as determined by the included photography article)!
Yes, Diane, Dad’s head was cut off. It was also lacking a central focal point. Now, for me, at the time, I just wanted to remember the occasion, and this photo was “fine” for that… certainly not stellar in any way, or a photo I would necessarily want to share…. just one of those “memory jogger” photos.
Well, let me see if I can figure it out. The lady’s bow in the background LEAPS out and the gentleman’s head got cut off? LOL I claim no gifts whatsoever in photography! Mere guesses as to what you have in mind. LOL

Yes, I had in mind the fact that I cut off Dad’s head. 🙂 I’m sure there is a lot more wrong with it though!
The man’s head is cut off and the 2 are not centered in the photo. Beats my photos, my hands are shaky and my pictures usually show it!:(
