Monday Inspiration by Beatrice: Harvest Sunset

October 17, 2016

It’s Monday and I’m excited to be back on the blog today to show you some inspiring layouts using SnickerdoodleDesigns’ latest collection, Harvest Sunset. Harvest Sunset is part of the Coordinated Collection and available exclusively through October 27 at The Studio where individual packs are priced at only a dollar each.  Beginning October 28, you will find them also at SnickerdoodleDesigns and The Digichick (but you will find the BEST price at theStudio right now.)

Now on to the purpose of my post. This collection speaks of sunsets and silhouettes to me. Harvest Sunset by Zanthia is a perfect example. She also used a template by Heartstrings Scrap Art. I like the way she placed the large photo on the right hand side and added the smaller framed photos on top. The heart shaped photo supports her theme, and her clusters are stunning. Finally, her word art and the quote she chose to replace her journaling are the perfect added touches.

What a fantastic extraction in Be Fearless by Joanna. The watercolor papers work perfectly as a backdrop and the curved, vertical cluster is beautifully shadowed. I really love the combination of paper and realistic elements. Finally ,the framed journal card works so well as both her title and her journaling.

I always seem to be attracted to photos taken from the back. Appreciate the Small Things by Kabra features one that is just adorable. I like the framing created by the stacked papers which mimics the wood frame while highlighting the photo. The clusters are outstanding; I love the way she used the rocks and ladder and tucked the other elements both behind and in front. Tying the lantern as part of the cluster at the top gives a sense of realism to the layout as if the lantern were lighting the photo.

Another gorgeous photo is featured in Life is Good by Rochelle86. I really like the way she stroked the photo in black which works well with the tree she placed in the background, as well as the birds and title work. The blended paper she used, which is part of the collection, is the perfect choice. I love the bits of curved lace placed across the bottom of the photo and once again the clustering is lovely and expertly frames her journal card.

I think Kythe used one of my favorite blended papers as the background in her layout. I love the way she created a scene using the kit embellishments, which not only mimics, but also adds to her spectacular photo. The fox appears to be enjoying the sunset very much.

I’ve come to the end of my post but before I sign off I want to be certain you grab the freebie that matches the collection. Karen featured it in her October 15 blog post but you may not have seen it, and I don’t want you to miss out.  Simply click the image to download the gorgeous cluster made by Renee.

I hope you have a chance to do some creating of your own. Thanks and have a great week.
