September 25, 2016

It’s Monday and a great way to start the week is with some inspiring layouts using SnickerdoodleDesigns newest release You are My Sunshine Collection.

While separates are available, your best value, of course, is with the collection. Now I won’t waste anytime getting to the purpose of my post.

In You Are My Sunshine, britnkaysmemaw2 uses what may be my favorite paper from the collection as the backdrop for her layout. She also used a template by Heartstrings Scrap Art. The added brushwork in the silhouetted sun and flower are perfectly placed so as not to detract from the paper’s original design. The vertically cascading elements direct the eye to the photo, and the clusters are lovely and support the theme of the layout.

It’s difficult to believe that Captain Ciera by Glori2 was actually created with the same collection. It’s obvious that you can get a lot of mileage out of the collection based on these two distinct layouts. I really like the masking on the photo with the large, gorgeous cluster placed on top. (The mask used is included in the You Are My Sunshine Masks extra pack!) The patterned paper fades out to create the stitch-topped border. The way Glori2 added the vertical stitching is quite creative and adds interest to the layout. The title work and journaling finish things off just right.

Sunshine by cutiejo1 showcases a darling photo. I really like the way she placed the journal card next to the photo creating a horizontal design. Her clusters are large and superbly shadowed but still do not outshine the photo. Using the ray paper across the top and the green at the bottom gives the appearance of a sunny day in a grassy meadow.

I love the unique layout design of Grandad and Gwenni by Ozgirl. She kept the elements large and tucked them in front of and behind her circular photo. I like the bits of lace scattered about which lend a soft feel to the layout in contrast to the bright elements.  Placing the journal card behind the banner is a great touch, and the circular journaling on top of the photo looks perfect.

It looks to me like Kythe blended several of the collection papers together to create a unique background for her photos in her layout entitled Family. She used the burlap squares to create texture and the chicken wire to frame her photos. The yellows in her clusters contrast perfectly with the darker tones of the background and the reds in the leaf spill. I like the way she wrote her journaling vertically.  Tucking the wood sign, which she used as her title,  into the cluster is just right for her theme.

If you haven’t already, make certain to grab the freebie created by Renee first shown in the September 24th blog post. I love this gorgeous cluster she made using the collection.

Finally, I hope my post has inspired you to do some creating of your own. Thanks and have a great week.
